Vast Arts is an independent non-profit arts organisation aiming to promote the arts as an integral part of the lives and industry of Western Queensland communities, bringing educational opportunities, cultural enrichment and economic benefits to the entire region.
Servicing artists, galleries, cultural groups, and other art related organisations/individuals in Central and South West Queensland including the towns of Augathella, Aramac, Barcladine, Bedourie, Birdsville, Blackall, Boulia, Charleville, Cunnamulla, Ilfracombe, Isisford, Jundah, Longreach, Mitchell, Muttaburra, Quilpie, Tambo, Windorah, Winton and more.....
It offers its members a broad range of services and facilitates the development of professional arts activities and maximizes the economic benefits of a lively and diverse arts industry in the Outback.

2013 VAST ARTS ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Everyone is invited to the Annual General Meeting of Vast Arts Inc to be held in Blackall (venue TBC) on Sunday 12 May 2013. Come along to meet new faces, catch up with old ones and share some ideas. We would love to hear your ideas, opinions and comments so if you can't make it please email them to admin@vastarts.net and request a proxy form at the same time. See you there!
THE 2013 KUNMURRI ART TRAIL
This A6 sized booklet packed with all the info you need to find out about the art and culture sites in central and south west Qld is being distributed for 2013 now! This years booklet is bigger and better than ever and includes maps, contact information, images and more. This is the ONLY guide to art and culture in central and south west Queensland. You can download a PDF (3.1mb) copy using the link below or request a booklet to be sent to you by contacting Vast Arts. Thanks to Arts Queensland for funding which assists us in encouraging, promoting and presenting the unique cultural experiences that our region has to offer.

2013 CHANNEL COUNTRY PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION is open!
Desert Channels and Vast Arts are proud to present the 2013 Channel Country Photography Competition. With over $8,000 in prizemoney thanks to our sponsors and categories to suit all levels of ability, this competition is for every photographer!
The OPEN section is for all entrants and has no restrictions. The REGIONAL section is for those living within the Queensland portion of the Lake Eyre Basin who are not professional photographers. The YOUTH section is for those under 20 years of age. All entries are eligible for the PACKERS PRIZE which is chosen by the competition organisers at Vast Arts.
The twelve winning images from this years competition will be used by Desert Channels in their 2014 calendar.
Entries must be in by 23 August 2013 and winners will be announced at a presentation on 12 October 2013. More information including terms and conditions can be found on the entry form.

The Grassland Art Gallery in Tambo, Qld features local artist as well as quality touring exhibitions throughout the year and is run by the Tambo Arts Council on behalf of the Blackall-Tambo Regional Council. Opening hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:45pm.

18 March to 17 May - an exhibition by western Queensland artist Nicole Harper 'Forest for the trees....'
24 May to end June - Local photographic exhibition 'Tales from our town'
End June to mid August - an exhibition of historically significant objects in conjunction with the Tambo sesquicentenary celebrations titled 'Significant Objects'
Mid August to mid October - Local artist exhibition from the region
